[Wrote|JLC #17| JLC #18]

I did write a story called “Person of Interest” which was quite cool on the 1st september, but managed not to report it on the blog.

I was also very naughty last week – somehow I got caught up in a novel I’ve been writing and I forgot the challenge. SO, the first week I’ve missed since I’ve started.

Today I wrote my 18th story on the challenge – “Lighter than Life” – a 2000 word story where I was practicing structure. In particular I was practicing putting a midpoint revelation into the story – a since moment in the story where the main character says what’s important to him.

Interesting technique. The one thing I love about writing is that you can always learn something new.

[Wrote|JLC #16] The Untold Mystery of Mr Sugar

A 2,700 word SF story about justice, and love, and time travel. A fun one to write. I wrote it trying to use some description and prose tips I’ve learned lately when studying another writer.

Good fun.

I’ve been writing like stink over the last week or so, rarely less than 5k a day, working on a new science fiction novel. One task “for soon” is to get all these short stories I’ve been working on submitted.

I’ve been very busy writing on my most recent user guide… I think I’ve broken the back of it, just need to do some revision and proofreading. Then, it’ll go up quite quickly.

Also, today I’m going to do some fiction writing for a change… I need to do the JLC story, and also do some work on the new novel.

It’s all heating up here!
